Considering the Leafs most likely want a salary dump, prospects. Given the Lightning's strength on the wing, winger prospects. I haven't heard anything more specific than that. All the TB talk since the draft has been that Yzerman would look at dealing from a position of strength (the wing) to fix the defense. That sort of changed when he said that he was done for the summer, but who really knows.

Really hope the leafs keep him, good young defenceman who is getting better at both ends of the ice. I Don't see why the price wouldn't be substantial if the leafs choose to move him, he was great last year. He would fit in on alot of teams second pairing/PP.


Who does Tampa bay have for prospects that they may realistically offer? I'm not too familiar with their system.

Obviously it would have to start with Stamkos.

If Toronto could get Nikita Kucherov straight up for Franson I'd say take it and run. However I doubt Stevie Y parts with a kid that puts up a 2ppg average in junior.

Franson wants $4m. Compensation at that range is set at a 1st and 3rd round pick. Sounds about right if you were to translate that into picks or equivalent prospects.

Richard Panik and a 3rd round pick for Cody Franson. But the big problem is to sign cody Franson we would need to dump malones salary via buyout or trade.

Nikita Kucherov is going no where but with the crunch or Lightning he won't be traded unless we get a all star #1 nhl defenseman like Alex Edler

I could see that deal as well connolly for Franson but the problem is yzerman would have to trade malone or buy him out to sign Franson. Plus if yzerman is giving up connolly he will want franson to sign at least a 5 year contract with the lightning.

Dude has one decent season and all of the sudden he wants 4 million and TO fans think he is worth a 1st and a third. The season prior they would have traded him for almost nothing.

The guy certainly had a good season...but I would be wary of committing anything large to him.

But we do have the cap space as Ohlund will be LiTR and that's 3.6 mil.
